Single Sign-On Remote Access to Online Library Materials
Ikeda Library uses the single sign-on OpenAthens e-resource access management system. When prompted to sign in to this system, use your soka.edu email address and password.
Some e-resource vendors will require separate authentication. When this happens, the SUA community just needs to choose "Soka University of America" from the OpenAthens Federation list at the vendor's site.
We recommend accessing full-text articles through our library homepage using the provided search boxes. The other preferred entrance point is our database list (either A-Z or by subjects). All the links through these two channels have the “OpenAthens” prefix embedded in, so that they authenticate you as authorized users regardless of where you are – on or off campus.
When sharing an article or ebook link with another member of the SUA community, using the link from the library’s catalog Worldcat Discovery is the best practice. It looks like this: “https://soka.on.worldcat.org/oclc/#######”
Each publisher has a unique interface and system; it can be frustrating for sure. When you encounter any issues accessing to the databases on campus, please contact the library at library@soka.edu or 949-480-4205. We will work with the vendor to solve the problems.
Google Scholar has also been set up with our linkresolver or full-text finder, so resources included in our subscriptions are accessible from there.
