The stark result of a vast, wide open vaht of curiosity–holding much of our fear and judgments being called onto the work and lives, we’ve created (in the form of modernization and abusing access to resource). At least the ones that have significantly impacted and caused repercussions on natural life.
Acrylic paint on canvas

* Note* WATER IS LIFE! By facing the simultaneous beauty and sorrow within, can we all reunite through grief. Inspired by a film in Deike Peter’s class on Water Scarcity, as a threat to humanity and all life as we know it. I aimed to capture the effervescent state of denial and complexity that lives within our society on the issue of water insecurity. While drawing on the everlasting beauty of Mother Nature in this state of uncertainty.

For the place, where kindness and compassion exceed the height of the Everest. For my country, where I am immensely glad to have been born.

Acrylic on canvas
30 x 24 inches

This piece was my first time trying an impressionist-influenced style. I hoped to convey a message of femininity and to also fade in and out of detail based on the depth of the flowers within the painting.

Je t'aime Vansha, November 2013
24 x 30 inches

This painting was created as a birthday gift to the artist's sister Vansha. The painting has an abstract view of Vansha's face with an abstract range of colors. It signifies her colorful and quirky nature—both how the artist perceives it and how the individual is. We are all quirky and colorful in our own individual ways and that furthermore reflects our perspectives. The thing is to recognize the colors and the vibrance and embrace them.

Sakura Blossom, November 2013
24 x 30 inches

Sakura (cherry blossoms) are one of my favorite flowers because the light pink/white petals that only bloom a few weeks a year are so beautiful. Happiness wells up in my heart just seeing pictures of them. I hope people who view this painting will feel the same way.

Clark Little's rainbow sunset wave, April 2014
24 x 30 inches

Originally a photograph by one of my favorite photographers, Clark Little. He is known for his photographs of shore break waves shot from the inside, looking out into the horizon. I chose this specific photograph of his because I truly loved the colors of the sky being reflected into the waves and creating the rainbow water.

Whale Shark Silhouette, May 2014
30 x 24 inches

As an ocean lover, I have adopted scuba diving as one of my favorite sports and learning opportunities. I have great passion for marine conservation as well as marine animals and especially enjoy swimming with sharks and manta rays. Whale sharks are my dream sharks to swim with, for their beauty and tranquility. I have yet to experience swimming with these sharks so I decided to paint the silhouette rather than the spots and stripes, which I would like to first observe with my own eyes.
