Rosa Luxemburg and the Necessity of Anti-Imperialism for Revolutionary Socialism by Alyssa Adamson"This essay examines the work of Rosa Luxemburg, a Polish Jewish Marxist, and the interconnectedness of internationalism and anti-imperialism in the revolutionary socialist struggle. Both Adamson and Luxemburg argued that the ongoing practices of colonization continue to run national and transnational economies. Thus, imperialism’s key role in capital accumulation necessitates that it should be a main focus of socialist politics. Using examples from Luxemburg’s experiences with the Democratic Socialist Party of Germany, which changed its anti-imperialist stance as it assimilated into mainstream German politics, this essay helps to outline how an anti-imperialist stance is necessary for principled, socialist politics and revolution."
