Mendeley is a free, open access citation management software that allows you to save and organize your research, including generating citations. As Mendeley is an Elsevier product, you will need to set up a free account at Elsevier as well.
To begin, you will need to complete the following steps to download and install the program and accessories for best use.
Once you have downloaded Mendeley Reference Manager, open it up to add the following tools. Go to the Tools menu and choose the relevant link to add each item (see image below).
This is a browser extension that will allow you to save source information and files from the library or other online resources. Mendeley currently offers connectors for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.
This plug-in will enable you to cite directly from Mendeley in MS Word.
Mendeley integrates with MS Word so you can quickly add in-text citations and formulate a bibliography of your resources. You'll need to install Mendeley Cite so that it can be added to MS Word where it will appear in the References Tab.
